Zamek w Dobczycach

Zamek w Dobczycach, usytuowany na wysokim wzgórzu nad Jeziorem Dobczyckim, to historyczna warownia, której początki sięgają XIV wieku. Pierwotnie był to obszar ufortyfikowany, a pierwsze wzmianki pisane o zamku pochodzą z 1362 roku.

Zamek był ważnym punktem na szlaku handlowym i kontrolował ruch na rzece Rabie. W kolejnych wiekach przeszedł gruntowne przebudowy i był siedzibą znaczących rodów szlacheckich, takich jak Lubomirscy. W XVI wieku Sebastian Lubomirski przekształcił go w renesansową rezydencję. Pomimo tego, że zamek ucierpiał w wyniku konfliktów wojennych, to jego ruiny nadal przyciągają turystów i są miejscem kultury.

Dzięki staraniom entuzjastów zabytków, część zamku została odrestaurowana i przekształcona w muzeum, które oferuje piękne widoki na okolicę.
