Zamek Lipowiec w Babicach

Zamek Lipowiec w Babicach to ruiny warowni biskupów krakowskich usytuowane na Jurze Krakowsko-Częstochowskiej. Znajduje się w województwie małopolskim, w otoczeniu rezerwatu przyrody "Lipowiec". Zamek został wzniesiony w systemie tzw. Orlich Gniazd na wapiennym wzgórzu o tej samej nazwie i stanowi część Garbu Tenczyńskiego.

Historia zamku sięga XV wieku, jednak po wielu zmianach własnościowych i pożarze w 1800 roku, zamek stopniowo popadał w ruinę. W 1868 roku został zakupiony przez hrabiego Guido Donnersmarcka, który podjął działania mające na celu zachowanie obiektu. Mimo długotrwałego procesu dewastacji, w latach 50. XX wieku rozpoczęto prace konserwatorskie i badawcze, które miały na celu zachowanie ruin zamku oraz przystosowanie go do zwiedzania. Dziś zamek Lipowiec figuruje jako obiekt zabytkowy i stanowi atrakcyjny punkt na mapie historycznych i turystycznych atrakcji Małopolski.
