Fragment muru byłego Getta Kraków

W marcu 1941 roku, na rozkaz gubernatora dystryktu krakowskiego, dr. Otto Wachtera, utworzono getto na terenie Podgórza, zajmujące obszar 20 hektarów. W tej przestrzeni zgromadzono między 18 a 25 tysiącami osób pochodzenia żydowskiego. W kwietniu tego samego roku, getto zostało ogrodzone trzymetrowym murem, którego szczyt przybrał formę przypominającą żydowskie nagrobki. Do getta prowadziły cztery bramy, z których główna znajdowała się przy Rynku Podgórskim.

Dziś zachowały się tylko dwa fragmenty muru getta krakowskiego. Jeden znajduje się między budynkami przy ulicy Lwowskiej 25-29, a drugi zlokalizowany jest z tyłu budynku Szkoły Podstawowej nr 2 przy ulicy Limanowskiego 62.

Na tych zachowanych fragmentach muru umieszczone są tablice upamiętniające Żydów, którzy byli więzieni w tym miejscu.
